The first days of life are always full of new experiences, but for a tiny newborn monkey, nothing feels more important than the comfort of his mother’s milk. Luna, a young and gentle mother, was still adjusting to her new role. She seemed proud to carry her baby close to her chest, but she didn’t yet understand how restless and needy a little one could be when hunger strikes.
The newborn clung tightly to Luna’s fur, making soft cries that slowly turned into louder squeaks. After a while, Luna finally began to understand. She looked down at her tiny one, still clinging and crying, and she adjusted her body. Slowly, the baby found his way to her breast, latching on instinctively. The sharp cries softened, replaced by gentle sucking sounds. His little body relaxed, his hands resting against her fur, as if saying, “This is what I needed all along.”
